Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find the right therapist for me?
The best way to find out if you are compatible with a therapist is to book a free chemistry call or initial consultation.

What can I talk about?
You can speak about any issues that are causing you distress or making life difficult for you. I encourage you to be open and honest to get the most out of your sessions.

What if I don't want to talk about something?
It is up to you to decide what you speak about and when you feel comfortable to raise these issues, at the time and pace that you are comfortable with.

Is everything that we talk about confidential?
Anything you say in our sessions is completely confidential, although there are some legal exceptions and and ethical reasons why I may need to break confidentiality. These exceptions are:
-
If there is a risk of harm to yourself or others including child exploitation or abuse
-
Acts of terrorism
-
Money laundering
-
Drug trafficking
-
If I am issued a subpoena by a court judge
-
Supervision - I am required to have regular supervision sessions as a practicing therapist. This is to ensure that I am providing the best service to my clients. I may, during these sessions, discuss your case. My supervisor is obviously bound by the same rules of confidentiality as I am.

How many sessions will I need?
There is no concrete answer because therapy isn't one size fits all. The amount of sessions you will require will depend on many different factors such as:
-
What you wish to gain from therapy
-
How you feel that you are progressing through your sessions
-
Your pace and how committed you are to changing your current life position

What if I need to cancel or change an appointment?
If you are unable to keep an appointment, please give me as much notice as you can. My reschedule / cancellation policy is as follows:
-
More than 48 hours notice - no charge
-
Less than 48 hours notice - 50% of session cost
-
Less than 24 hour hours notice - full cost of session

Can I contact you between sessions?
I will be available to you for your appointment times only, unless you need to contact me to reschedule an appointment, in which case I will respond as soon as possible.

What if I have a mental health crisis?
If you have an emergency or are in immediate crisis, it is important that you get help straight away. You could call your GP for an urgent appointment, contact the crisis team at your local A&E, or access any of these 24 hour helplines:
